I've been in your shoes.
I'm Suhas Chinta, a junior at Keller Collegiate Academy in Keller, Texas. I know exactly what it feels like to chase a score that seems just out of reach. I've taken the SAT. I've stayed up late studying, questioned whether I was doing enough, and felt the weight of knowing that one test could play a major role in my future. That pressure is real. And nobody talks about it honestly.
Plenty of resources. None of them helped.
While preparing, I realized something frustrating: the resources are everywhere, but most of them don't actually teach you how to improve. It is easy to spend hours watching videos, grinding random practice questions, or flipping through prep books and feel like you are working hard while your score stays exactly the same. I lived that. I wasted time on things that felt productive but weren't.
Smart students were still stuck.
I saw the same struggle in the people around me. Friends who were sharp, driven, and hardworking were still sitting below the scores they wanted. Not because they weren't capable. But because nobody had given them a clear system. A way to study that actually matches how the SAT is built. The test is learnable. Most students just never get shown how.
I built the system myself.
I stopped treating the SAT like a test of intelligence and started treating it like a system to hack. Figure out the rules, exploit the patterns, make it work for you. Chunk by chunk, section by section, I stopped guessing and started knowing. The result was a 1550. 800 on math, 750 on reading and writing. Not because I was special. Because I finally had a plan.
I built what I wish existed.
After going through that process, I wanted to create something I wish I had from the beginning: a practical, honest, student-built guide to the SAT. Not a course. Not a subscription. Not a $300 tutoring session. Just the actual strategies, the real resources, and the honest breakdown of what works, completely free. Because the information was always out there. It just costs money to access it. That should never have been the case.
This is not about making the SAT easy.
It is about making it manageable. Unbarred exists to break down the strategies, resources, mistakes, and study methods that actually helped me improve, so students like you can study with more direction, confidence, and purpose. Figure out how the test works, hack it, and make it work for you. I know what it feels like to want a score badly. And I know how much changes when you finally have a plan.
to want a score badly.
when you finally have a plan.
Unbarred is built for every student who has ever felt like the test was designed against them. It was not. You just need to figure out how it works, hack it, and make it work for you.
